Horrible Airport
My husband and I went to attend the wedding of some dear friends of ours in Santa Barbara, CA. We were also celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. So we decided to fly into LAX and drive down the coast to Santa Barbara. I must say, that of all of the airports I have been in (both domestic and international), LAX has to be the WORST. It's dirty, extremely disorganized, and not what one would call an "up-to-date" style airport. Furthermore, the people are RUDE. I've never been in an airport where the airline employees were so nasty. Not only were the airline employees nasty, but so were the employees of HERTZ Rent-A-Car. As much as I love LA, Santa Barbara, and Santa Monica, I will NOT fly into LAX again. One would think that for an airport that caters to both domestic and international air traffic - plans would be made to expand and update it to make it more appealing to travelers. If any plans are ever made to expand/update LAX...on item airport personnel might want to consider is to hire friendlier/more accommodating employees.

Terrible Place
LAX is a depressing place. It is old, dirty and messy. Arrivals is OK, but departures from Tom Bradley International Terminal is an experience to avoid. Check-in lines were short, but after check-in you have to wait in line to hand over your checked baggage to security personnel. This was a 1-hour line with poor information and ensuing chaos. After that, the security checkpoint - another 30-minute line. You would think that you could then relax, perhaps get a drink or something to eat, but there is a peculiar lack of facilities after clearing security. Perhaps they know that once through security, you are so late that your flight is already closing...

Not Impress At All
Arriving to LAX was easy to get around. The airport looks old. It's huge. I have no complain about the baggage claims. The waiting area for the shuttle is a bit crowded.

Once I had a connection flight from San Francisco (SFO) to New Orleans (MSY) and I had to change the flight to another terminal. The information boards did not help me at all. I had to wonder around the terminal to find a way until I decided to ask one of the officer. She told me that I had to wait for shuttle to get to another terminal. The officer was really helpful on giving the direction for the shuttle area. The inter terminal bus was fast and very frequent.

I wish that they could have a sign on how to get to another terminal instead of guessing around to find a way by yourself.
