Named after J. F. Dulles, Secretary of State under President D. D. Eisenhower from 1953 to 1959, Washington Dulles International Airport is a public airport in Dulles, Virginia, which main terminal is a very well-known landmark designed by Eero Saarinen, who wanted to find “”the soul of the airport”” when he designed the terminal building in 1958.
The Dulles Airport is 26 miles from Washington DC and has 139 airline gates. In 2012, it handled more than 22.5M passengers including both domestic and international travellers.

Effenicent, clean and pretty landscaping. Restaurant s and taxi service are accumulated to my needs as a corporate executive. Planes arrive on time and travel information is readily available for viewing.
Dulles is an amazing airport and either if you take the bus or the train you will still get there on time.
Mid-sized And Effective
The only problem of Dulles is when you enter the USA, you have to stand a line that’s too long. But especially departure passenger section is well organised and security check is very effective. I really liked Dulles International.
Busses Vs Train
I was waiting for the new trains, hoping it would make getting to and from flights, easier. BRING BACK THE BUSSES! I arrived at C8 the other night and had to walk, for at least a mile to get the train. Then I waited for another 20 minutes for the train. I have a knee problem, and excess walking is very difficult. Why does the train run a half a mile away from Terminal C? Go to Atlanta and their train departs and arrives right underneath the terminal, fast and efficient. Virginia lacks brain power when it comes to design. Our roads are disastrous! This Airport is totally ridiculous! Give us back the old busses! They were faster, and you didn’t need to walk a mile.

It’s true that this airport does not have the most modern glass and steel concourses, and yet it defined ‘modern’ in the 60’s. Designed by the same architect (Eero Saarinen) who created the famous TWA terminal at JFK, the main building and pagoda-like tower will be historical landmark for decades.
Dulles: The Only DC Choice
I have flown into Dulles many times as well as Baltimore and National. For international flyers – don’t waste your time with National, the parking is not just terrible, it is completely absent or used every government pencil pusher. Also, DC has an atrocious policy of towing and booting cars left and right. Baltimore Airport is still too far if you need to fly into Washington or northern Virginia. The only answer is Dulles. Parking at DIA is always available. I realise there may be some other US airports which are much better, but if you need to fly into this area, Dulles International is, in my opinion, the only choice.
Lunar Base ?
Three things to be pointed out : You queue for ages to get through the customs You get into those lunar base vehicle to get from one terminal to another You walk and you walk and you walk.
