Yes, it's far removed from any city; and the nearest hotel is about 15 minutes away. With that said; it's the cleanest, most efficient airport I've been to. I have never had a flight delayed through here; although I had a flight delayed INTO here, but the staff was very quick to make smart decisions on booking alternate flights (United). Every person, when asked, gave generous answers of personal opinion, and not just 'policy'; from recommending best place to eat, to where the most comfortable chairs are! (I had to stay overnight once! they even reminded me what time to set my alarm to be on time, and not be overcome by travelers while asleep!) If I am flying cross country, I usually pick a certain air carrier just so I can connect in DEN, and not have to worry!

Great Airport
DEN is one of the best airports. Yes, it is 30 miles from town. However, shuttles are available--you don't have to depend on a cab. Check out the DIA web site for more details.
DEN is organized logically and is no problem whatsoever to navigate. And, if you get turned around or wonder where your gate/restaurant/car rental counter, whatever, just look for the senior citizens in tan vests and cowboy hats. They are volunteers who are information guides and will be happy to direct you wherever you need to go to. Denver is a friendly airport and it's a pleasure to fly with them.

No Transport Links
I loved the airport as it is so clean and runs very well. The only problem was no train or subway link with Denver. It cost $80 in a cab which is far too much to get to downtown Denver.

Well Organized, Lacking Parking Sometimes
Well organized, clean and spacious. the only problem I see with it is that is parking: all parking lots tend to be full at times, so you might be in for an unpleasant surprise. With all the empty land around you'd think they would create some more parking space...

An excellent airport. I'd recommend that you try to book morning flights because it is never crowded during the week. But it takes about 3 hours from ATL to DEN, then 1-1.5 hour drive to Vail. Anyway, I love DEN airport, it's so organized!
