Major Headache
I try to avoid this airport at all costs. My problem is not so much the underground train, but the concourses themselves. They are crowded, cramped, and there are no moving sidewalks. Picture the running of the bulls in Pamplona, except people are not running from the bulls, but running to make their flights. Another problem is taxiing. Many times you will find your flight landing on a remote runway and having to taxi across several active runways to reach the terminals (which means stop and wait every time your airplane crosses a runway). On short flights (say Pensacola or Savannah to Atlanta) I have found myself on the ground taxiing longer than in the air. This can be a problem if you have a tight connection.

I dislike this airport!
Because I live in NW FL, this is the airport that I have to go through virtually every time I fly to anywhere. It is the busiest airport I have ever used and is not for the faint at heart! One must *ensure* that enough time has been allowed between flights as this airport requires a great deal of maneuvering to get from point A to point B. Yes, the underground train is a good thing, but you will eventually have to make your way through your appointed terminal, which can be a nightmare. The best thing about this airport is its collection of shops and restaurants.

The Best US Airport
This is the most impressive airport I've been. Being the busiest airport in the world makes you wonder how to get around and not get lost in the airport. The information boards really helps. There are a lot of shops around so you always have something to browse while waiting for the next flight. I was there for my connection flight from Houston (IAH) to Orlando (MCO) a couple of times. Just that for the first timer, please make sure that you have your ticket easily available and remember your terminal and gate for the next flight.

Complicated
Just how in the world can you plan an airport made up of terminals connected just by an underground train. The train stops at every terminal. Picture landing at terminal B and connecting from terminal E! Once at the desired terminal... looong walks to the gate. Now imagine you are in a rush and the train keeps stopping! You go nuts!
One thing in favor: shops, restaurants and the overall appearance in nice, but just not an easy airport.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Int.
When some of my family and I flew to Denver to go skiing in Vail, Colorado - the 4th best ski resort in the world- we flew out of ATL. It's one of the best airports I have ever been to. The efficency of the security point and the trains are non stop to each of 5 concourses. Our flight was out of Concourse B - gate 36, which was a normal concourse, food, bathroom, shops etc. I definitely recommend buying tickets beforehand and having them sent to you, because if your flight is in the morning or afternoon/evening, the Airline Ticket Station lines can get a little long at times. That's why there is curbside baggage drop which is very efficient ONLY IF you have your tickets, which is the way to go.
