Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Destinations Map
Gallery and Facts
With almost 60 million passengers in 2012, twice the number it was built to service, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is the busiest airport in Indonesia. This airport, abbreviated SHIA or Soetta and often called Cengkareng by Indonesians, opened in 1998 and is located in Cengkareng, West Jakarta on the island of Java. It is also often known as Jakarta Airport.
In 2009 the airport opened the first phase of Terminal 3, which adopts an environmental friendly and modern concept, relying on natural light rather than artificial light, and has a capacity of 4 million passengers. In the newest plan, the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport T3 will will be designed in a U-shape with a total capacity of 25 million passengers per year.

Not bad but must to be improve
Waving Gallery
I love this airport because there is a waving gallery, so I can take shots of the airliners.
Soekarno-Hatta International
Great international airport in Indonesia with great architecture, especially Bali in boarding lounge. Now the airport has a moderate transportation which will take you to Stasiun Gambir by a DAMRI transportation bus.
Good And Bad
For me the international airport (Terminal 2) doesn’t deserve to be an international airport. But well I could see that there are major upgrades on the airport currently, I’ve been flying a lot to Jakarta for business trip in the past few years and I find that every time I arrive at the airport there are lots of (good) differences. E.g.: the restrooms are getting renovated and now almost all of them are clean. There more quality shops opening in the international terminal ( No 2). Terminal 3, for me is the best, the airport is modern and much more maintained.
Immigration
Jakarta Airport is not that bad but needs a few extra things and it might be great and of top of all that I wish the Indonesian government monitored all the immigration officials there, most of them are very corrupted: it’s a very sad thing to see an immigration official asking a foreign passenger for money like a beggar. This happens on a daily basis, they are reflecting bad image of the country.
Too Dirty
the airport so dirty, the toilets too dirty also and too small for international airport.
New Terminal
Good improvement of the CGK International Airport. The new terminal is its third terminal – well done :-)
Great Airport
With several things to upgrade, Soekarno hatta is a great and nice airport.
Worst Airport
CGK is the worst airport. Toilets are very dirty and the people are not friendly at all.
Funtastic Airport
CGK is one of my favorite ones.
Unique Terminals
Traffic to the airport can get very crowded, especially early in the morning. A new toll road to the airport has almost been completed and will alleviate problems with flooding during the rainy season. A new terminal is under construction. The older terminals 1 and 2 are very unique, but in need of an upgrade. Services at the airport are limited. There is a hotel and restaurant in terminal 2 on the third floor, access between E and F gates. This is probably the best place to kill a few hours if you have to.
Great Airport!
CGK is main airport in Jakarta, the capital city of Republic of Indonesia.
i think soetta airport is not rather bad airport but the upgrade is needed to make the airport better and great, and the upgarde must be done quickly, so i can get serve about world class airport
