Good and Convenient
5 Star
Absolutely 5 star rating as for such a small airport. It is growing in its size faster and better than I have ever expected. I do travel a lot. Aviation is my job and study. It is really impressive what it has been done to it. Well done and carry on! The only minus is the infrastructure around it. More public transport please!
Stresfull Security Check
I agree with other comments about the convenience of this airport. The only problem I have is a very bad design of the security check area. The room is too small and crowdy, enormous lines (at least during the pick morning hours), no space for re-arranging your stuff after the check, and an ABSURD small stairs to go up to the pass control and waiting area. Once you are there, to get to the plane you’ll have to go DOWN again… Getting to the right gate is also a little confusing. It’s a pity because with a better architect design, this airport would be one of my favourites. And I am familiar with many others (about 30, I guess).
Good Experience
This airport gave me the best impressions. It’s clean, staff is helpful, and in a cafe on the top floor the cuisine is exactly what the traveller needs: hot food, salads and soups, instead of snacks and cola, that are commonly served in most of other airports. I do really love this airport. The only inconvenience, that it’s in 2 hours drive far from Krakow. But Wizzair has a lot of cheap flights from here all around the Europe.
My Opinion
In my opinion the Katowice Pyrzowice Airport should be an example for other medium-sized airports in Europe. There is no waiting in lines for hours, the crew and staff are really helpful and it is a pleasure flying from there!
This airport is local to me. I’ve used it a number of times and could not want more – quick and efficient. Sometimes it’s kinda hard to find a parking space. Other than that, good facilities throughout.
