Know Where To Go In UUS
International Arrival
The Sakhalin airport has only 2 desks for immigration. As it takes normally 3-5min per person, try to be first when leaving the plane and run (there is no bus transport) to the building. When departing bring drinks with you. The airport has no bar or restaurant.

I’m not sure where Mr. Rossmann was, but there is plenty to eat and drink in UUS. At domestic check-in, you simply go upstairs where there are several shops and cafes, plus lots of seating. For international flights, there’s the Elan cafe before you check-in. Of course, after you’ve checked in and gone through security, there’s nothing. I’ve been through Yuzhno many times and never had any trouble, it just takes a while. Immigration and baggage collection can take forever and domestic baggage claim is a cultural experience. The key is to know about the upstairs in domestic departures and the cafe by international departures. Once found, UUS is a much kinder place.
