Generally OK
Strange patchwork of terminal buildings and add-ons, but seems to work rather efficiently, even if it seems quite cramped. The Agricultural inspection at the boarding gate seems an unnecessary hassle.

Car Rental
Great walk-up car rental deal (runs about $20 for 24 hrs). Check the kiosks as you walk out of the terminal to the crew van. Much nicer to have wheels to explore the island (black beach, surfer cove, sugar plantation and museum, etc)

Runway Length
The Kahului Airport can be a risky approach in certain crosswind conditions overall. Its a reasonable setup but I feel it would have been better on higher ground.
