Complaint About An Airport Staff
My wife and me were flying from Saint-Petersburg, Russia to Dublin via Frankfurt Hahn airport on February 15 Th 2009, flight LH4980. In Saint-Petersburg duty free we bought a bottle of whiskey (1litre), a bottle of cognac (1litre), and a bottle of wine. In Frankfurt airport shop we also bought a bottle of whiskey (1litre) and a bottle of cognac. When we came to our flight we were refused to bring the purchases from Saint-Petersburg on board with an explanation that this liquid bought outside EU. The liquid bought at Frankfurt airport was OK. When we asked about the difference between cognac bought in Saint-Petersburg and the one bought at Frankfurt airport from a security point of view, the officer Tania Batuman referred us to the rule, which has been in use for two years. We had no chance to see this rule. I would like to mention that her behaviour was rough and not friendly. I suggest you have printout of this rule on the check point and ask the staff to be more polite. We had to leave our 'non EU purchases' at the airport. Other that this, the airport is clean and properly managed.
