The current airport was constructed during the time that I served as resident missionary at the Biliau Mission, 1967-1971. The original length was 1960′ which is not quite the 2,000′ noted herein. The approach is normally from the east (toward Saidor) and the touch down areas were approximately 12-15 ‘ below the high point where the planes normally stop. The strip had (and I suspect still has) a grass surface.
