Located in borough of Queens, New York, LaGuardia Airport is the busiest airport in the US without any non-stop service to Europe.
LaGuardia Airport site was first occupied by the popular Gala Amusement Park owned by the Steinway family. In 1929, the park was transformed into a private flying field until 1937, when New York City took over, enlarged, and transformed it into New York Municipal Airport-LaGuardia Field. Ten years later, LaGuardia Airport was leased to the Port Authority.
