Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport is based in Colombier-Saudnieu an area of Lyon 13 miles (20 km) southeast of Lyon’s city centre, and is one of two airport based within the suburbs of Lyon, France.
Lyon airport was originally names Lyon Satolas Airport, and it wasn’t until the year 2000 that it was renamed to Lyon-Saint Exupéry in respect of the Lyon raised, French pilot and writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry to celebrate the centenary of his birth.
