I would like to say a few words about my visit to Batumi Airport. The first day was windy, but not so much, the plane was delayed for 2 hours, then 3 hours, however plane didn’t come and at all and the flight was cancelled. Nobody offered us a hotel or a taxi service. Next day everyone was nervous. What irritated me was the security check. One security person was checking the X-Ray monitor, another man was controlling handbags without (!)communication to the XR-personal. I felt as if I had been under arrest. They weren’t polite and I think they were not trained for this job.
The security men are not polite. They deported a guy without adequate explanation and to worsen it their English is terrible. I would expect at least one good English speaking immigration officer to be on duty. Most countries fly with invitation letters and receive visas at the airport like me.But unknown to many especially sports men, some local companies have been blacklisted without communicating to airlines not to accept such. I am advising all travellers to do their research possibly confirm their ID’s with local authority before flying.
