US Airways Flight Departure On Sat. May 8th
Aside from watching the AA and Delta passengers being harassed by unnecessary so called pre-boarding baggage checking (which should have been done at the security checkpoint not when passengers are boarding) I was part of the group of US air passengers that were evacuated from the airport because of a bomb threat. The way the airport security staff went about evacuation and readmission was very unprofessional to say the least. There were old people who were having difficulty with the amount of walking that was required of them. The airport should have had transportation for them at the very least. Also, when everyone was allowed to go back into the airport the airport TSA had no idea what so ever of what they were doing. They had the passengers going up and back down the stairs between ticketing and departure. Individuals were heard saying "I'm going to have a heart attack if they keep this up". When the US air was finally allowed to board I know that the air crew told the TSA that they needed to get the passengers on as soon as possible otherwise they would not be able to takeoff. All in all, it was not very good public relations for St. Kitts, Nevis and the many tourists who were there for the first time. Some commented that they would not come back. Anyway, I thought you should know about this as many of the passengers were upset at the way this situation was handled.
