Puerto Obaldia Airport
Got to P.O. planning to get a boat up through the San Blas Islands to Colon, but after 10 days still no boat. Now P.O. ain't the most lively place in the world, and eventually after 10 days we thought sod this, let's go, when a mail plane flew in.
So we hopped in the tiny 6 seater, trundled up the runway to the forest end, and turned around. 2 seconds later we were hurtling down the bumpy runway to the other end, seemingly about 100 yards away, but maybe a little more, where it crumbled into the Caribbean, looking at the roof of the plane.
Seats weren't bolted to the floor so over and backwards we'd gone. And then about 3 feet before we plunged into the sea, off the ground we went, up we wobbled, dodging thunderheads, turned left over to the Pacific coast, and an hour later we were in Panama City.
Puert Obaldia - try it out its different. You won't get jerked
