You couldn't pay me to fly in this area. I've never travelled abroad but this is one of the areas that I don't feel safe or comfortable travelling.

I had to come back to Dubai from Peshawar airport. Very rude staff. After manually checking the luggage (carton) by knife. Also scan the luggage. After screening i was told that there is video camera and we had to check the bag. They checked and closed but when i reached home the camera was not there. When i complaint at Peshawar airport i was told to forget the camera. Already raised an e-mail complaint on 23rd Nov 2010 and till date the investigation is going on. My request to all visitor while the officers are checking the luggage please don't move away from your luggage even if they say to move ahead.

Its a nice size airport, usually all flights are on time. It's unique in the world for 3 things,
It has a train track on the runway, where the train is no more operational at present, it has an irrigation canal passing under it, it has both the dumbbells of runway on same direction. There are two runways in an X-shape form and airport is mutually used by Pakistan Air Force and Passenger plans. The passengers are usually transported in buses between plane and terminal building. Usually the International terminal is crawdad due to its small size, and less number of counters (Around 4). Women and children are given priority in the queues and usually they bypass them. The potter service is poor and they charge around 200Rs. ($2.5). For arrival you have to pass through customs which are looking for electronics or expensive goods to charge you. The Airport staff overall is cooperative and guides anyone if you need to know the directions. Try to avoid strangers and their help in pushing trolley cart etc. Taxi service is available out side the main gate of airport which is cheaper then the one inside the airport.( its just at a 100m walk and worth it). Usually the time taken between flight landing and getting out of terminal building is around 25-40min this is because the airport is smaller and the time between the two international flights is more (so you will not face much of a traffic). For departure please allow 25min time for clearance form all customs and Anti-Narcotics then ticketing and immigration.

The air port is just like a Pir Wadahi Bus stand of Rawalpindi or General Bus Stand of Peshawar. Bathroom toilets are in a very bad condition. I think even the bus stands of some poor countries are much better than Peshawar Airport. Everybody at the airport will grab your luggage and ask for tip. No control by airport authority. Every service at the airport is rubbish.

Small airport, unsuitable for International flights. Arrivals lounge very small and Unorganized, Immigration staff are always very rude and are inefficient. Takes at least 45 min to an hour to go through immigration. All luggage gets scanned in a haphazard manner before you are allowed out of the lounge. Departures is comparatively better. Expect very long queues and you will need to go through a Customs/ANF hand search of luggage followed by X-ray scanning of luggage. After checking in you will need to go through 3-4 counters for immigration etc. NO signs for guidance. Boarding lounge is medium-sized with refreshments shop which is expensive. Telephone, Internet and toilet facilities are available. There is also a small gift shop which is quite expensive. You will have to walk on tarmac through a ramp to board your flight. Most of the International flights are usually on time.
