Lismore Regional Airport
Lismore Regional Airport is great. It is a relatively new terminal, has a great coffee shop and eatery, has free email and phones for passengers to use, free carparking with future security parking for longer stays and the location looking out onto the runway from the terminal up into the mountains beyond is spectacular.
The flights into Lismore operated by Regional Express are efficient and professional.
It is an easy half hour drive to the tourist area of Byron Bay making Lismore a far more convenient and friendlier airport than Ballina - the other closest airport to Byron Bay.
Lismore City Council who owns and runs the airport has given Regional Express a business proposition. Should they increase the passenger numbers per year to greater than 70 000 then they will reduce the landing fees to zero! Currently Lismore Regional Airport is running at about 66 000 so not far to go to meet their target.
