We visited Calafate in November 2008. Like the rest of the town, the airport is experiencing rapid growth. There is a very small baggage claim area, not enough room for passengers to retrieve luggage. There is an expansion going on, so maybe things will get better.
Airport
Very nice little Airport, with a view onto the lake. Very bright, all in wood, metal and many many windows.
Travelled in and out of FTE in March 2010. Still a small airport with a nice view on the Lago Argentino.
