Hong Kong International Airport is situated on the island of Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong, China. Hong Kong Airport is however still the busiest in terms of cargo transported. The airport is locally known as just Chek Lap Kok Airport, avoiding confusion from the ‘old’ Hong Kong Airport; Kai Tak, which was replaced in 1998. Around 90 airlines run their flight operations from this airport to more than 150 destinations worldwide. In 2012 Hong Kong International Airport handled 56,057,751 passenger flights.
The bustling city of Hong Kong has grown out from and around their harbor and actually consists of 260 islands. The gorgeous scenary of the coastlines mixed with impressive skyline is viewable at it’s best from Victoria Peak which is accessible by a 120 year old railway tram.
