Why Do They Hate Our Luggage?!
Me, my wife and friends go to wonderful Vietnam on holidays rather often, every time we arrive at this airport. The building is quite comfortable and modern, and the staff is always very friendly and polite. We appreciate everything except one unpleasant fact. Every time when we see our luggage after the flight, I want to cry: "Hey, do your loaders play football using our bags?!" There is an impression that the loaders do their best to destroy tourists' luggage. For example, our last suitcase was broken, and the handle was just torn out. I have no intention to investigate, if airport loaders hate their job on the whole or just passengers' bags and suitcases, I would like to let other people know. Remember: do not take your favourite bag or new bag if you're going to arrive at this airport, otherwise you have great risk to get broken down (as your luggage indeed). I would highly recommend chief staff to search for a competent person able to establish order in this area of the airport. Our best regards to all other airport personnel.

Horrible Service And Corrupt Officials
What a shame! Vietnam is such a beautiful country but I may not return because of the people at the SGN airport:-
1. rude, uncivilized behavior toward us
2. officials looked for bribes and hassled us for how much money we have, despite us telling them that we've read their guidelines and have less than the specified amount.
3. I've been to many airports who welcome you upon arrival. At SGN, I wanted to flee the country before entering.

It seems that this is an experience that many of my fellow travellers of Vietnamese descent endured. Please do not condone their behavior. They're bullies. Write down their names and report them after safely leaving the country. Do not give them any bribe money, even if they ask!

Tan Son Nhat Custom Employee
After 35 years I finally decided to visit my motherland. I have heard many horrible stories from frequent travellers about Vietnam Customs giving you a hard time if you don't give them money. Well, I have experienced both entering and leaving the country but the worst is exiting the country. All I had was my carry-on, a video camera and cell phone. A Custom officer asked if I have any money in my wallet or luggage? I said to myself none of your business. I can't believe what I just heard!!! If this is a 1st world country, this employee will get fired. He checked my wallet all I have is $100cad. I told him that is all I have so he let me go. Now I'm back in Ho Chi Minh I really want to stand up to these bullies but I don't want to miss my flight what should I do?

Worst Airport - Scammers
I hate visiting Vietnam because of all the BRIBERY that goes on when you arrive and leave Vietnam Ho Chi Ming Airport. Even though you have nothing for them to get you on they still want money! They need to reform the whole organization and get rid of all their custom and airport employees as this is a HORRIBLE PRACTICE for their tourism industry. I don't care if they make me wait an hour on the side. I will not give them a single penny! STOP giving them money and we won't have this problem - crazy people.

Next Time Pay Attention to the Worker
I arrived at the airport fine and dandy. However, the workers lack professionalism and common courtesy and kept on talking what they were doing after work that night. Worst. They criticized the incoming passenger appearance, their language skills and etc. "How can someone of Vietnamese origin not speak Vietnamese, what am embarrassment", she said that to herself assuming I didn't understand a lick of Vietnamese. My briefcase was opened, checked, broken and 10% of the items went missing. I flew with Jeju air from Korea to Vietnam, the Korean worker treated me very well. The Vietnamese counterpart - oh dear, I want to throw my dirty shoes at them.
