OUN - Latest Visit
I flew into OUN on Saturday morning after an approach handoff. Westheimer has the usual clockwork of a class C airport: approach/tower/ground. I was provided progressive taxi instructions on this first visit, to the FBO. The treatment was relaxed and professional. There was a crew car in good shape, and the lineman topped off the tanks on request. I received a marked roadmap to the nearby Museum of Natural History - which is a magnet for kids, by the way - with numerous dinosaurs mammoths, large predatory fish etc. On departure, I appreciated the friendly quip from the tower about my aircraft colors ; a C-150 in the orange/white scheme reminiscent of their arch-rival OSU. A positive experience, all told.
