Not Usually Crowded But Needs Renovation Badly
Not Usually Crowded But Needs Renovation Badly
The airport is never usually too crowded and is very clean. It is one of my favorite airports. I just wish we had more choice of airlines and routes. We have a good selection of airlines but there needs to be service from JetBlue, Virgin America, Spirit Air, Allegiant Air, etc. We could also have some international flights on airlines like Air Canada, British Airways, Air France, etc. How can we expect to be a big city without having a few international destinations. I'm not sure if they'd be popular or not,but I would like to see it someday. Eppley could also use a renovation/expansion, as the city has been growing quite fast. The picture I attached is a proposed airport expansion that would take years but would make Eppley much larger and more inviting. It would give Omaha more of a big city airport feel. But don't be discouraged by my comments. Eppley is my favorite airport because it has a great variety of services and destinations and is generally cheaper than flying out of Lincoln, Sioux City, or other close-by airports. The environment inside is very calm and relaxing, which makes a great start to a flight. I just hope they decide to renovate soon and maybe add a few new airlines and/or routes.

Re: General Conditions
OMA may look empty to someone used to larger airports... but the fact is, it's very busy for a city its size. Last year Eppley served 4.2 million passengers. That's more than considerably larger metros like Louisville and Oklahoma City.

General Conditions
OMA Eppley is one of the least crowded airports in America. The terminals are (relatively) empty all the time. Coming or going, the flights are never full. No need to arrive "two hours before departure" as in O'Hare or LAX. Twenty minutes is more than enough. Don't know why... Maybe nobody wants to go to Omaha.

Small But Clean Airport. . .
Eppley has been the topic of interest when it comes to expansion, since Omaha has grown exponentially in the last decade. The airport is small and easy to navigate. It is also very clean. Delays at this airport are few unless coming from or going to a city that is experiencing them. IMO, it has served this city well, but could use a small expansion and interior/exterior "freshening", with maybe some more direct flights to the west coast.
