Outrageous Charge For Drop Off
The new charge for dropping people off at the airport is absolutely outrageous. It's akin to extortion as you don't know before you drive in about the charge, and you can't get out without paying it. And there are no other options for those of us living in the borders for betting to the airport. I'm a frequent business traveller but will be doing everything I can to avoid using Edinburgh airport - especially bearing in mind the other new strategy of asking you to pay £5 to avoid the security queues that they have created.

Small But Nice
As a frequent flyer, I travel through Edinburgh airport three or four times a month, so I know it well. The first thing to note is that it is a very small airport, so getting around is not a problem. Despite being small, there are several bars, coffee shops and restaurants for getting something to eat or drink. More importantly, small means efficient and regardless of how busy the airport gets during peak hours, there is always an abundance of polite and friendly staff there to help you check in and get through security quickly. The transport to and from the airport is also (via bus or taxi) is also very good and it's only a twenty minute taxi ride to the city centre. The owners have just announced a large expansion project, which should hopefully make it more comparable to other European airports, such as Glasgow, Copenhagen, Vienna, etc. All in all, it's like my title says, small but nice.
