Actually a lot of changes occurred during last few years. New runway, new terminal. Huge financial infusion into the airport renovation. Investments alongside with nice project considerably changing the situation. A new terminal is due in April 2012.

Location better than KBP, with bus stop outside .You can get to the train station in 15 mins.That is the ONLY good point. This is by FAR the worst airport I have ever experienced. Old Soviet-era buildings poor facilities, rude staff, pig headed security, no baggage belts - just take your case off the trolley which arrives in a tiny room direct from the aircraft. Add dirty toilets, no loo paper, no cafe and less than 30 seats in the check-in area. When you have eventually endured the check-in process, you have to go outside, and queue up outside the security check shed before entering the ridiculous departure lounge which closed its tiny duty-free shop as soon as we entered it. No drinks were available to us until we had taken off 3 hours later. Avoid if you can and use KBP instead.

Its location is very favourable for business aircraft as well as for regular flights, as airport appears to be within boarders of KYIV city. Many historical places to visit, hospital and immensely friendly people. National Cuisine is delicious, alcoholic beverages are strong. MIND IT. This place deserves to be visited.
