There are no direct flights to Lugansk. You will have to go to Kiev and catch a connecting flight to Lugansk. I did this with a friend recently and it all went very smooth. The only trouble was we left London Heathrow at 08:20 got to Kiev at 14:00 and had a 10 hour wait for the connecting flight to Lugansk.....There are only 3 flights per day to Lugansk and you will probably have a very long wait in the terminal before your flight. A word of advice. Do not wait in Terminal 'A' as there is nothing there. Go upstairs to terminal 'B' and there is a nice cafe / restaurant there so you can get something to eat and drink. If you smoke there is a smoking area there too.......

Please note that from July 2008 until further notice there will be no flights from Kiev -> Lugansk. You can take a plane to Donetsk from Kiev (Donnbass aero) or the night train Kiev - Lugansk.

I am an American that has made several trips to Lugansk. The best way to get to Lugansk is to book thru Aerosvit Airlines (they are cheapest. They fly out of Terminal 4 at JFK Airport to Kiev. Or you can book Delta. It's a 9 1/2 hr flight overnight. You'll enter customs off the airplane (usually a Boeing 767) at the Kiev airport. The baggage claim is just beyond the customs area. Make sure you have your customs declaration in order (who and where you will be meeting/staying while in the Ukraine). The stewardesses on the aircraft will give you this. Once you get through baggage claim, you'll exit the terminal "B". You'll want to exit the Terminal to the right as Terminal "A" is to the right of Terminal "B". Terminal A is where you'll present you luggage and tickets. Make sure you are there with about an hour to go before your flight to Lugansk. It'll be self-evident from the posted flight information (on the flat-panel displays - they are in English also) when you are to depart. They'll line people up on the right hand side of Terminal A about 15-25 minutes before departure. From there you'll be taken out onto a small transport bus out to the tarmack and to your plane. The flight from Kiev to Lugansk is on a very common turboprop Antonov AN-24. It'll be about a 2 hour flight to Lugansk. Once at the Lugansk airport, you'll exit the plane to the left side of the airport. They'll bring your baggage to you, and you'll exit the tarmack through a small trelice structure that takes you to a pick-up area near the front of the airport building.

I have tried to book a flight to the Lugansk airport but all that comes up are flights to Kiev. So I come here to find out when they have flights into Lugansk and there is no information about the airport or airlines or anything. Simply put this site is terrible.
