Terrible Experience
Arrived early for flight to Miami and then it was announced in an inaudible speaker that the runway experienced a pothole and was closed. Updates were unavailable; people were frustrated waiting to hear on flight status. Eight hours later, when the airport was closing, I found out my flight was canceled through another airline. American did not make the announcement. American airlines people had gone home! Terrible, terrible communications with passengers.

PLS Airport
Typical Caribbean airport. Small but efficient. Upon arrival, depending on the size of the plane, immigration and customs is pretty fast, 15 minutes for a 80 seat CRJ out of Atlanta, our luggage was ready and we were out the door pretty fast. Customs was very quick and cursory at best. Departing process was quick, although each of our 6 bags was randomly searched with one of us present in the back room which took 10 minutes. Departure lounge is air conditioned and reasonably comfortable although there is a not too many eating options. For us it seemed that 90 minutes to 2 hours was plenty of time to arrive.
