Nice Cozy Airport
I use this airport regularly to fly to BKK for the intercontinental flight. I would have preferred that more international carriers to offer those flights directly from CNX. The airport is being expanded and heard that when it is done, it could handle up to 6.5 million passengers per year. I find the airport may not be matched with those big airports such as Ohare, Sing and Narita. So don't compare CNX - nice little cozy terminals - to those big names. You will find that CNX is not up to that kind of standard yet. But over all it is quite suitable for a small gateway to the northern region of Thailand as well as to the other key destinations in Southeast Asian cities.

Chiang Mai
The Chiang Mai Airport is about to burst at the seams - the number of carriers has grown so much that it cannot cope. An extension to the terminal is being built though. The airport is very close to the city and transfer is easy. It is also within easy walking distance from the airport plaza shopping mall.
