Please Be Careful
We often travel to Tenerife using the south airport Reina Sofia airport but you must be aware of the following problems:
1) The arrivals hall is always very busy and there are some strange people hanging around, keep your valuables is such a way you can feel them.
2) The baggage handlers are thieves who will open up unlocked cases and remove goods at will. I have suffered a couple of cases of theft and had a small amount of Euro coins taken on 09/11/2006.
3) Be very wary of over-weight baggage as randomly the check-in staff will make an example out of someone, we were caught on 09/11/2006 with baggage of 12 kilos over the weight restriction although the cases were identical to the way they were checked in at Newcastle International where they where deemed OK.
The check-in staff will not allow you to redistribute goods to weight balance and will ride roughshod over your basic human rights.
