Not Interested In The Passenger
Traveled end June/start July 2011 from LGW on Aer Lingus; inbound OK but on return vast queues at all the OPEN check-in desks, then totally uninterested security - my wife travels with a nebuliser (basically a compressor), just waved through without question. In departure area most of the retail outlets were 'Temporarily closed' , does this mean 'gone out of business?' Immigration control usually had one desk open, result long queues with airline desperately paging 'missing' passengers.

Been using this airport for years. It has always been a nightmare. Partly because of the design, partly due to the "once a year" tourists queuing for budget airlines, which have few check-in desks and so longer waits. Where is the restaurant - you cannot get a decent meal in the place at all - and I am talking since it has been reformed inside. It must be the only airport without this. The new business lounges aren't great either.

Pablo Ruiz Picasso Airport (malaga)
As a partially disabled passenger, I find this airport absolutely fantastic to fly from. The distances to the gate from the departure lounge is not great and the fact that there are bars and kiosks available after passport control means that you can take your time getting to the gate. The policy of announcing ahead of time which "pier" your aircraft will fly from followed later with the gate number adds to the ease of getting to the aircraft. The airport seems to have been designed with disabled passengers in mind with very few steps and lifts to bypass any steps you may need to climb/descend. Although the airport is currently undergoing a major expansion, so far this has had little impact on passengers.

Malaga Airport
Malga airport is a busy place. Security is very efficient as i got through with no queueing.
The executive lounge staff have no idea what a Frequent Flyer card is and would not let me in when I should have been allowed in. The wating time at baggage reclaim is generally not very long and the car hire desks are located in a very convenient place. The car park stairwells could do with a bit of a clean but generally the airport is all right.
