Actually not that bad. Consider the fact that for many years now, there have been direct Lufthansa Flights from Frankfort to this destination, which makes it possible to avoid Russian carriers...The airport already has a renewed (new) international terminal and is planned to be enlarged and modernized.

Ekaterinberg (koltsovo) Airport
The airport is moderate in size. We were kept in a transient passenger waiting area between a flight from Chita, Russia to Moscow, Russia. There was a small gift shop with food available. The bathrooms were slightly primitive. We did not use gateways. We had to walk out on the tarmac to board the plane.
Note: I saw several Soviet Era HIP Helicopters parked nearby.
