Respect Qatar
When in Rome - respect the rules that you cannot bring alcohol into Qatar. But why would you want to? One of the world's best airlines, second only to Cathay or Singapore.

When Have Aiports Ever Been Great. Security Checks In Transits Kill Everything.
Alcohol cannot be carried through transit. You can purchase alcohol at Doha duty free shops just not from your starting airport. This is the only time I have seen 2 separate security check counters - one for non-US flights and the other for US flights. WEIRD. like they have to go through one more round of airport security check for US flights. Nothing great about the airport, barely any food choices so make sure your layover time isn't too much. Just your standard airport to get into a plane :)

Denial Of Human Rights At Doha International Airpott
To Mr Ajay George;
You should check the travel laws to any country you fly to, is illegal to carry or bring any alcohol into the country of Qatar. To any other traveler there will have a connecting flight in Doha, I will advise if you want to carry alcohol to your destination you buy it at the duty free shop on the way out or do not bring it into Doha. It is the law you will not be able to bring alcohol in Doha Qatar even if you leave the next day if you must go thru customs or leave the airport while waiting for your transfer. All prohibited items will be confiscated and not returned.
Doha airport is a very nice airport with great facilities. Hopefully it will improve when they finished building the new airport. If you travel be responsible and learn the culture and laws of the country you are going to.

Denial Of Human Rights At Doha International Airpott
I am a passenger who travelled with Qatar airways QR 050 on 16 may 2011 and subsequently travelled from Doha to Cochin on flight QR 264 to Cochin on 16ty May 2011. I was carrying 3 bottles of wine unopened and 2 bottles of opened alcohol on the flight from Geneva to be carried to Cochin on my subsequent flight. The Doha customs took away the bottles from me in spite of my request that the same could be checked in or stored at the airport on my subsequent flight to Cochin on the next day. The bottles were not returned to me on my subsequent flight and I was not issued a receipt for the bottles taken away from me ..and was threatened when you had requested for a receipt...even a bottle opener which was with the bottles was taken away. I have been denied my right as an international traveller and was inhumanly treated for reasons unknown to me.
