Comment On John Paul II Airport, Ponta Delgada
Yes, I have used this airport recently (November 2012). Bus transfer to the city available since October 2012 at EUR 5.00 each way (3-4 kilometers). Bus drop-offs at all major hotels. No fixed timetable, minibus will travel as required. Airport facilities include ATMs, post office, shops (duty free once passed security), food and drink, tourist information and car rental firms. No long distances, one walks to the aircraft, complimentary umbrellas if raining. All staff speak good English. Friendly.
