Like The Rest Of Norway
Lovely and well-organised but ridiculously expensive. Prepare to pay USD 15 for a plain sandwich... Security is awful as in most airports. Once through security you go left for domestic and right for international travel, and this is not very clearly marked. Tax shopping on departure is fair, with the exception of alcohol - where you have a HUGE selection at reasonable prices. The souvenir/crafts shops are so expensive it's funny just to go in there. A nice feature is tax-free on arrival. Visitors should buy beer and wine for their stay as these are so expensive you won't believe it.

OSL - a Vibrant Airport!
This is Europe's most vibrant airport at the moment. Many new routes are opening and the Norwegians are having plenty of surplus money to spend on air travel. The travellers are not merely window shopping they are actually buying the things. The Norwegians are also very nationalistic and can buy a more expensive ticket if they know the money is going a Norwegian company. Gardermoen International Airport is a marvel of glass and steel. A fantastic feature is the baggage belt, conveyor belt 9 in the baggage hall. Here you can offload baggage from two jumbo jets at the same time. You have to shutters and the baggage belts starts from the roof (sic). The baggage belts are so huge so it is located in a special hall.

OSL Review
Oslo Airport, Gardermoen is indeed one of the most efficient airports in Europe, not to mention one of the most beautiful aesthetically. The striking architecture, with a delicate mixture of dark wood and concrete. The layout of the terminal is also so simple, that it is nearly impossible to get lost. Even though this airport and it's services is a bit more expensive than other European airports, it's not that bad, and you really can't expect anything else since Norway in general is rather expensive. The only thing that is not so good with this airport is that the Non-Schengen area is rather small, and is located on the very tip of the international concourse. But all in all, this is in my eyes the most efficient, beautiful and friendly airport in Europe. 5 stars!
