The way to the airport from downtown Kawthaung is about 7 miles; about 0.5 km road to the Airport is with Palm trees on both sides. Although the structure of the new Airport building constructed by Andaman Group is OK, now due to less maintenance the inside of the building needs a new decoration. Even though one side of the runway is open to the sea, the other side is facing the mountains which are a few hundred meters high. When the weather is bad and wind direction is not favorable, it is the weak point for this.
