The first airport I have come across with the stupidity of collecting of parking fee for getting dropped off. When you raise any objections, you will be forced to pay the parking fee (two or three people surround you) and thereafter you are free to launch the complaint either with local police or airport management. The airport managers are least bothered to rectify the system as political influence is involved. Better use Kochi Airport than Coimbatore Airport.

The airport management need to look at the fact that, people driving in to drop the passengers do not have to pay a parking fee! The current approach is plainly RIDICULOUS! If you intend to have a revenue stream, you figure out the charges through the parking lessee agent as to what is viable and what is not, at the same time have to regulate the lessee's actions. The agent that gets the bid for parking management cannot impose his own rules that he wishes to, and rip customers (say for instance, anybody that drives by that street!). Rather the airport management has to regulate the agents to provide convenient and reasonable fees for the passengers. Since the CJB Airport management did not keep the lessee in the leash, I am giving 1 star. If I had an option for 'Zero' star, I would have given it, instead.

I've been using this airport for the past five years. The passenger traffic has really gone up in the last two years. I would say CJB will grow much faster once the runway length has increased to the fuller capacity. My dream is all international flights should take off from Coimbatore like Chennai and flights like A380 will land at the CJB in the years to come.

Coimbatore, one of the high earning airports among Tier II cities. Now it's all set to expand for international movement expansion. You have Silk Airlines to Singapore and Air Arabia flying to Sharjah. Recently IBM, CTS, Robert Bosch and more companies have began their operations in Coimbatore. Soon direct flights are expected to connect Dubai, Malaysia which would provide Coimbatore connectivity to US and Europe.

Why do they charge for cars which are coming just for dropping and picking? I believe it's only a Car Parking Fee and not a toll fee for cars entering the airport that is to be charged. The ONLY PLACE IN THE WORLD where fee is charged for dropping and picking your friends and relatives. The authorities are doing absolutely NOTHING.
