Tocoa used to have an airport a long time ago... if we can call it "Airport", actually it was some kind of field in the which some small planes and helicopters could land but after many years of remaining unused some country people made an invasion into the place and took possession of it. Now there is a neighborhood called "La Pista", because of the old place that there used to exist for small planes landing...

Tocoa Airport
Tocoa like the Agrary capital from Honduras most to have an airport.
I remember 35 or 40 years before the planes landing in Tocoa...
The airlines were:
Servicios Aereos de Honduras S.A. (SAHSA)
lineas aereas nacionales S.A (LANSA)
other line that I only remember like Dash 7.
when the government open the road between La Ceiba and Trujillo the Airlines stoped.
the airport were next to the down town, but now trere is a land ready for the airport at 8 km. from Tocoa, in a place named Sinaloa...I know there because I was working there.
