Haiti's Main International Airport
Back in 2011 I visited my country twice: once in June, and the second time in September. When the aircraft was about to land, I had a feeling that told me what kind of picture I'm gonna see at the airport; the main building cracked etc. But other than that I was happy seeing the progress made through the airport with the new passage from the aircraft to the building. But when I heard that the President of Haiti has launched several projects for re-construction,including the airport, I said 'wow', this is great, we have to have an airport modern, just like every other nation. Being realistic that I know one day, we will have things that blink our eyes when traveling to other countries. For me this is a dream that come true for Haiti. Re-constructed the main airport in Port au Prince and also in my native town - CapHaitian will have an airport modern, just like other places. I'm happy the fact that we have been waiting for so long for things to change in Haiti. Also we do not want to see (people around the gates of the airport) troubling Haitians, foreigners etc when coming to Port au Prince from Overseas. This image doesn't make us that we're doing something good. What the government needs to do is to enlarge the capacity of the one way, and make it two ways, one way coming, another way going. And also the route of the airport need to be larger, with way for people to cross and walk; bring nice panels of commercials, lights(solar lights)etc.

PAP Airport
For some reason we diverted here. It was a few years ago, maybe 1999. There were tents on the airfield and it seems some military in battle dress uniforms, and armed. We had to go into the terminal, of course no air. Kept my cool until we left, but felt uncomfortable as if a hostile environment.
