The approach, usually from the east, flies over a small dip in the hill. There are four roads that meet there and now a roundabout. The planes come in low over the roundabout as my photo shows. Once safely down you will, I'm sure, go to that spot to see the planes arrive. The airport was renewed completely not long ago and although small is very functional. Sit on the LHS if coming from St Martin & on the RHS if coming from Guadeloupe. Enjoy the landing. It's safe but fun!

The Landing On St Barths 1
The largest plane capable of landing there is a 20 seater, usually from Guadeloupe and landing there is an experience. It feels worse than it really is. Arriving from St Marteen (12 minute flight) sit on the left side of the airplane to get a stunning view of St Barths from Colombier beach to the airport including my home! Do not worry if your baggage is not on the same plane as weight matters. It will follow.
