Kulusuk Airport
Considering the limited number of commercial flights here, this is a more-than-adequate facility. Yes, there is a recent ($$$) hotel near the airport, but our five-year-old son and I hiked the two miles to the village of Kulusuk via the only (unpaved) road and stayed in Johann Brandsson's superb guest house for only $50! But do NOT arrive here without prior reservations, as there are few options!

I have been to Kulusuk two times on westbound single engine transatlanic flights. The first time in 1996 we were able to rent rooms at the airfield and also were catered for there. A hotel has been built near the airport since then, supplying good accomodation and catering for all needs.
