The airport terminal at the Greek island of KGS is rather small for the number of charter flights it receives during the holiday period. Obviously the previous poster’s hand luggage was overweight and had to pay for it, something that is not down to the local staff, but is the airline’s policy. I have been travelling to the island for over 20 years, several times during summer for work, and I have found the staff very helpful. The airport facilities are few, to the minimum required and both the Arrivals and Departure lounges too small to cope with the number of passengers going through.

Airport Staff
In my opinion the staff at KGS are without doubt the most miserable and most surly bunch of people it has been my misfortune to have come into contact with. The fact that their economy is purely tourist driven seems to have passed them completely by. My holiday was fantastic but the airport encounter has left a very bad taste in my mouth. Just to finish off, one word of advise: make sure that your main luggage and your hand luggage are not over weight. I had both of mine checked on the way back and got stung on the hand luggage big style!
