The security staff was rude. "Pull the Indian guy with the cap, he took a picture of the security line", yelled the woman at the security processing checkpoint FRA just like the Nazi woman with a machine gun in the movie Schindler's List commandeering a group of Jewish women on their way to the concentration camp. Yes, I did take a pic, of their innovative "trolley" solution to pass the plastic bins from then end of the line to the beginning. So I promptly deleted the picture in front of her eyes. Why don't they put a big sign saying "Camera use strictly prohibited"?

My husband and I were coming to Germany from Chicago and the signage at the passport control was small and hard to read. We ended up in the wrong line and had to go figure out what line was for US Citizens. We had a connection so after passport control we had to go through security again. There was a huge line and our connection was coming soon. Airport personnel yelled at people to go this other way because there was another line that was supposedly shorter. So we walked for what felt like miles and finally got to the security line. There was a huge line there as well. We made it to our flight, but turns out they were holding it because oodles of people were stuck in their security nightmare. Make sure you have at least a couple hours between flights. My husband was randomly selected for a security check and they did not leave one spot untouched (if you get my drift). The female security people were rude to me because I did not move the way they wanted (they were not real clear) and patted me down as well and I have a German name. I have a feeling they are just jerks to all people no matter who or what you are.

On June 26, I was trying to depart FRA for IAH on United 47. A United flight attendant noticed an a bag not being attended in the middle of the concourse and reported it to a gate person. This was ignored by the gate person. I reported it to the "Airport manger" who said any bag in this area is secure. This is my airport so do not worry about it. Many Americans boarding the flight did worry about it. About ten minutes later a gate personnel came up to me and said do not joke about security, bombs or terrorists. I told them I was not joking, there was an unattended bag in the middle of the concourse. Upon trying to board I was denied boarding until the "Airport Manger" and a representative from US Customs talked to me. Basically the "Airport Manager" was mad because I waived to him that I wanted to talk to him. I have reported this to the US State department for unneeded harassment that I received for reporting a security violation and this man's action. I have also notified TSA of his actions along with United Air Lines.

The German police checked my credentials after exiting the aircraft, then after wondering around trying to figure out where to go for my connecting flight, they stopped me and rudely requested my credentials and asked where I was coming from again. I got the feeling they were only checking people of color. The airport lacked personnel to assist with airport information and directions. This assistance was needed due to the lack of signs providing information. Myself and other travelers wondered around until we eventually got to the right spot. The distance between gates seem ridiculous. The airport needs updating. I arrived at 5:20 a.m. Things got better after about 7 a.m.

My first visit to Frankfurt airport was 25 year ago and I loved it back then. I came back last month ans still loved it out of almost all airports around the world I've been to. Frankfurt-Main still one of my favourites!
