The airport is still under renovation. What is done so far is not bad, compared with how it was. Be prepared to pay airport tax when you leave. Souvenir shops as usual, plenty and expensive. Transport by bus to San Jose City is possible, but to other areas as Puntarenas, Liberia, etc. is not available by bus. One has to go to the city (20 km opposite) first.
