Airport Update
Be very careful when landing on Linderman Island as there is no-one there who can give you accurate advice on the condition of the airstrip. We experienced bad advice and landed in November 2010 in very soft and muddy conditions after being advised by the Island that it was OK and safe to land. We bogged the aircraft and got away with it as it was a Cessna 182T. I would strongly recommend that you do NOT land on Linderman Island and alternatively use Hamilton Island Airport as it's only 35 minutes by ferry to Linderman Island. Also, landing to the South has a significant downhill slope with a poor approach due to high trees. I repeat I strongly recommend not using this airstrip. Our experience on the Island after this event was wonderful and we would highly recommend it for a great holiday experience.
