Departure Vs Arrival
I've been tavelling to and from COR on plenty of occasions. When arriving, immigration and customs are quick, effective and friendly. English is understood most of the times. What lowers the grade concerning the airport as a whole are goof-ups at the check-in counters and the airport security. Sometimes, you will be asked to pay anything from 10 to 50 ARG pesos upon leaving. It's NOT the mandatory fee for departing passengers. But an invented one by the airline LAN Chile. If passengers refuse to pay, check-in personnel usually hesitate to issue boarding passes and thus silently threatening the passenger of denied boarding. Security checkpoint is usually quick, but don't bring beach sand and/or other loose stuff as this can be taken as drug smuggling. The chemical analysis performed takes forever and you run a big risk of missing the flight. Besides all above, the airport is modern and new terminal has been constructed. Shopping is limited and if flying international, consider shopping at one of the hubs on the outbound trip: EZE, GRU or SCL.
